Your primary responsibilities will include overseeing the maintenance of building structures and mechanical systems, performing general maintenance, ensuring safety, and managing the related support services associated with these functions.
Position Overview
- Manage and perform maintenance work on heating, air conditioning, and ventilation systems.
- Assess requirements and carry out various tasks including plumbing, minor electrical repairs, and grounds maintenance.
- Manage and maintain a preventive maintenance program for building systems, and compile and track related records and data.
- Oversee and ensure the reliability of safety equipment, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
- Manage, supervise, and inspect work performed by external contractors in accordance with approved budgets.
- Maintain an inventory of parts and materials required for prompt response to system failures and equipment malfunctions.
- Plan maintenance activities to minimize operational disruptions.
- Present any unbudgeted expenses to their manager and, when appropriate, to Senior Management.
- Make all necessary decisions in emergency situations to ensure the proper operation of the building and the safety of its occupants and report any associated unbudgeted expenses.
- Develop and manage the building budget, including contract negotiations and tendering processes.
- Recommend improvements that could generate cost savings, maintain or enhance safety, or improve occupant comfort.
Work Conditions
- Day and evening work schedule, based on a 35-hour day shift, Monday to Friday.
- Outdoor work and handling of heavy loads, including office furniture, boxes, and mechanical parts.
