As part of its class action management service, KPMG currently carries out engagements in which it acts as settlement administrator for class actions of all scales. This role involves managing incoming claims, assessing claims, and .
You will work with a multidisciplinary team providing front-line exposure to the operational intricacies of a complex and multi-faceted project.
What you will do
We are looking for candidates with a diploma of postsecondary studies (DEC, DEP or equivalent) or those who have completed an undergraduate degree from various fields to join the class action management service team.
The work involves the following activities:
- Processing of claims received by mail, email, and via a dedicated website.
- This processing may include:
- Opening mail, scanning documents, manually entering data into a portal set up.
- Monitoring and sorting emails received in the main email inbox managed by KPMG. You may also be called upon to respond to emails from various groups or individuals.
- Various tasks related to the administration of claims, such as organizing documents and files, searching for and verifying documentation, etc.
- Claims Assessment: Through a claims assessment platform, review and analyze claims and supporting documentation, and contribute to the validation process by applying established processes and criteria.
- Escalation of complex cases: Identify complex claims and escalate them to the appropriate levels for further assessment.
- Conduct testing of updates or new features of a portal or technological tool, in accordance with an established testing plan.
- Contribute to the preparation of reports, correspondence notes, as needed.
- Ensure communication with claimants according to established protocols, including follow-ups, requests for information, and general inquiries, by phone, mail, or email.
- Deliver high-quality, timely work that meets the requirements of the commitment and KPMG's quality standards.
What you bring to the role
- Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously with precision, attention to detail, and have a good sense of judgment.
Comfortable with technological tools, including word processing software (Word), spreadsheets (Excel), presentation (such as PowerPoint), as well as specialized claims processing applications. Familiarity with analytical tools or specialized software is an asset.
Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team; ease in establishing relationships.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including active listening, and the ability to interact with clients, including vulnerable individuals.
Great discretion and a keen sense of confidentiality; you will be required to work with sensitive personal information.
Proven ability to take initiative and exercise judgment, as well as analyze and solve problems.
Ability to maintain a sustained work pace to accomplish a set number of tasks on a weekly basis.
Proactive and initiative-driven: you may be asked to provide feedback on certain established processes and suggest modifications or improvements based on your experience.
Experience in insurance claims review or administration is an asset, though not required.
Ability to obtain a reliability status following a security clearance conducted by the Government of Canada. You must have lived in Canada for the last 5 years without spending more than 6 consecutive months abroad. KPMG will assist you in the process of obtaining the reliability status, which is valid for 10 years.
