Industrial Electrician (Operations and Maintenance)

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Facility Maintenance Technician (Industrial Electrician) will be part of our P3 Building Technologies & Solutions business at Johnson Controls. This position will be located at the Interior Heart and Surgical Center, where you will be part of a team that performs a variety tasks to maintain building systems, equipment and physical aspects of the facility. What You Will DoCustomer ServiceResponds to customer needs, inquiries and requirements in a professional, timely, respectful and courteous manner at all timesPerformance RequirementsDiligently responds to work orders, work assignments and other work requests in a timely manner consistent with the response and rectification times.TeamworkWorks together with other maintenance staff, management, Hospital staff and contractors, as and when required; in a cooperative, efficient and respectful manner to complete assigned work.SafetyPerforms all duties in a safe, diligent and careful manner, and in strict compliance with Company and site-specific Occupational Health and Safety Policies, rules and requirements. Will actively follow infection control procedures, as dictated by hospital policies.Housekeeping and Clean-UpEnsures that all work and rest areas are kept clean and tidy at all time in a manner consistent with good housekeeping practices.Principle Duties:Performs predictive, preventative and corrective maintenance on facility equipment and systems, more specifically on electrical systems ensure facility uptime objectives are met, uninterrupted client operation and asset integrity are maintained.Performs work in accordance to established processes, including response and rectification guidelinesFollows all internal and external requirements including but not limited to environmental, health and safety, and fire protectionMay be called upon to perform all maintenance duties throughout the Hospital after hours and on weekends when the Facility Maintenance Department is closedMay perform maintenance duties throughout hospital when called upon.Plans and coordinates high-voltage maintenance activities, including Lock-Out-Tag-Out activities.Completes all code and best-practice requirements for periodic generator testingPerforms inspection and sign-off of hospital-related equipment, prior to use in the facilityCommunicates and records observations about facility equipment and systems conditions and deficiencies and provides suggestions for improvement and repair.Responds promptly and courteously to routine and on-demand service requests and performs preventative and corrective maintenance in a timely manner on facility equipment and systemsMonitors facility by conducting facility inspection tours; and equipment and system monitoring and inspectionRecords resolution data within a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).Ensures work completed meets quality, contract response and all other requirementsReceives, tracks, monitors and reports status of maintenance and repair work within service maintenance management database.Initiates documents to acquire formal approval of work required.Works with subcontractors on equipment repair, preventative maintenance and calibration.Recommends spare parts and supply purchases for facility equipmentParticipates in and assists with facility-related project work.Ensures the manner in which work is performed is in compliance with corporate and legislated policies, procedures, practices and guidelines related to environmental, health and safety, fire protection and any other applicable requirements.Ensure compliance of the work with environmental and safety permits (professional risk analysis, work authorization).Participate in all departmental training programs.Maintains all assigned tools and arranges for repair and replacement where required.Actively participate in all Hospital Codes (either tests or real) directly related to Facility Maintenance involvementAssist and participate in exterior seasonal maintenance tasksAll other duties as assignedWhat We Look ForRequired:Must be able and willing to work flexible shifts, be available for on-call/standby and emergency call-outs when assignedRegularly scheduled evening and weekend work and 12 hours shift work may be required.Must be willing and wear personal protective equipment (PPE)Must have the ability to use hand tools, lift/carry 50 lbs., and to work on ladders/step stools.Must have good communication skills (verbally, written); must be able to speak and write fluently in English.Requires working extended periods on his/her feet in a fast-paced environment.Fully Vaccinated and provide proof upon request.Successful candidate will need to pass extensive security/background checks.Provincial certificate for working as an Electrician in BCPreferred:Power Engineer 4 or willing to obtain 4th class certification.Graphics programmingNetwork systems equipment experience and troubleshootingElectronics experienceVFD experience and programmingData systems and controlsSecurity systemsMore than 5 years of facility maintenance experience in hospital, university, food, manufacturing environment, or any other commercial or industrial/institutional institutionsRequires a good understanding of mechanical and electrical systems in a large facilities, including 120V, 600V, high voltage systems.Demonstrate ability to read and interpret blue prints and schematics.Familiar with use of a Building Automation Systems (BAS) - Metasys knowledge is an assetSolid understanding of computers and handheld devicesPositive, professional disposition towards work and willingness to cooperate with co-workers and supervisors and to contribute to a project team.Strong client-service orientation along with a high sense of urgencyAbility to succeed in a team oriented environment under very dynamic (changing) conditions.Ability to maintain confidentiality of JCCLP and client related business activitiesAbility to work at certain heightsHourly rate of $41.08, determined by IBEW Local 213 CBA/rate sheet.
