What you will do
At Johnson Controls, we are committed to creating a sustainable world. In support of our Data Center Solutions (DCS)/Silent-Aire group, you will play a pivotal role in managing the daily operations within the receiving department of our facility. Your responsibilities will include overseeing shipping and receiving activities, effective stock handling, strategic layout and design, management of small project work, and other duties as assigned to ensure operational excellence.
How you will do it
Lead and supervise daily operations across the receiving departments of both facilities, ensuring the efficient and accurate processing of incoming and outgoing shipments in alignment with our commitment to operational excellence.
Oversee all shipping and receiving activities, including thorough inspection and verification of incoming goods to ensure quality, compliance, and alignment with our sustainability goals.
Implement and maintain best practices in storage, organization, and inventory control to optimize space utilization and ensure easy accessibility to products.
Design and develop an efficient warehouse layout that enhances space utilization and promotes effective workflow, demonstrating our commitment to innovation and efficiency.
Coordinate and manage small project work as needed, ensuring timely completion, adherence to quality standards, and alignment with Johnson Controls' objectives.
Lead, train, and mentor warehouse staff, fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and productive work environment that empowers employees and promotes their professional development.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and Johnson Controls policies, actively promoting a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement within the workplace.
Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to warehouse operations, using data-driven insights to identify opportunities for improvement and drive operational excellence.
Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and other departments to ensure seamless operations, address challenges proactively, and support the achievement of overall business objectives.
Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned by management, remaining adaptable to the evolving needs of our organization.
What we look for
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field, coupled with a solid foundational knowledge of warehouse operations
Proven experience in warehouse supervision or a similar role, showcasing a track record of effective team leadership and operational management
Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
Demonstrated leadership capabilities, with the ability to inspire and manage teams effectively, fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture
Proficiency in warehouse management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant technological tools that drive efficiency
In-depth knowledge of safety regulations, best practices, and compliance requirements in warehouse operations
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders and foster collaboration
Preferred:
Certification in warehouse management or logistics (e.g., APICS, CLTD) is highly desirable and reflects a commitment to professional development.
Experience with ERP systems and their application in warehouse management processes.
