Position Summary
We are hiring a permanent, part-time (0.60 FTE) Section Head of Acute Respiratory Therapy Services for the East Kootenay Regional Hospital located in Cranbrook, B.C.
Days of work: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
Shift times: 7:00 to 15:00

About the position:
Joining the team as Section Head of Acute Respiratory Therapy Services, you will play a key leadership role in overseeing and coordinating the day-to-day operations of the Acute Respiratory Services section, supporting the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care. You will be responsible for developing and monitoring policies and procedures, contributing to strategic and operational planning, and providing budgetary input while ensuring effective management of expenditures and strong fiscal accountability. Working within a collaborative and values-driven environment, you will guide a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, efficient, and responsive respiratory care across the organization.
This role also includes active participation in the High Acuity Response Team (HART), where you will provide critical care support for patient transports. As a Respiratory Therapist on HART, you will practice at the top of your scope, delivering advanced respiratory care to patients who might otherwise have limited access to specialized services. This is a unique opportunity to combine leadership with hands-on clinical expertise while making a meaningful impact on patient outcomes and strengthening access to care in rural and remote communities.

Qualfications
Graduation from a recognized program in Respiratory Therapy.
Three (3) years recent, related experience including one year supervisory and/or instructional experience required, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience acceptable to the facility.
Successful completion of the Health Professionals Testing Canada (HPTC) Credentialing Exam. Eligible for membership with the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT) and the British Columbia Society of Respiratory Therapists (BCSRT).
