Position Summary
We are looking for an experienced Power Engineer 5 / Maintenance Worker V to join our dedicated and supportive team at the Invermere and District Hospital in Invermere, BC.

This is a permanent full time position working Wednesday to Sunday day shifts from 08:00 to 16:00. This position supports Interior Health facilities within the region.

Your Role:
As a Power Engineer | Maintenance Worker, you will be instrumental in operating and maintaining the power plant or low-pressure steam plant to ensure optimal functionality of boilers, air conditioning units, emergency power systems, and related equipment. Your responsibilities will include performing preventative maintenance, repairs, and trades duties approaching the journeyman level in areas such as electrical, plumbing, and painting, all while adhering to applicable codes and regulations. Additionally, you will supervise Maintenance Workers and other designated staff, contributing to a safe, efficient, and well-maintained facility environment.

Qualfications
• Grade 10, plus four years’ recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Certificate of competency as a 5th Class Power Engineer with Boiler Endorsement recognized by the Province of British Columbia.
• Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License required.
