Position Summary
Ashcroft Urgent and Primary Care Centre (UPCC) has an immediate, permanent full-time Physiotherapist opening. Days of work are Monday to Friday.

Within a public health context, Physiotherapists in Urgent and Primary Care provide the expert “value-add” resource to a physician’s practice. The UPCC Physiotherapist performs functions such as:
• Lifestyle modification and improved fitness.
• Resource for development of public education and community based exercise programs.
• Assess and make recommendations for Musculoskeletal conditions (including back pain, acute sprains/strains, etc), symptom management (fatigue, SOB, non-pharmacological pain management) and equipment.
• Vestibular screening and treatment.
• Pelvic floor dysfunction screening.
• Assess and make recommendations for falls risk, balance, gait impairment, gross mobility impairments, stroke recovery, and return to work.
• Chronic disease management.
• Identify risk of skin breakdown due to immobility.
• Assess and make recommendations for pain management, positioning and mobility.

The care team includes family physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, and other Allied Health professionals. The Primary Care Physiotherapist provides same-day, urgent primary care services utilizing a team-based care delivery model.

Qualfications
• Current registration with the College of Physical Therapists of British Columbia (CPTBC).
• Valid Driver’s license where required.
