Position Summary
We have an exciting permanent part time (0.50 FTE) opportunity for an experienced Clinical Psychologist to join the Interior Health Mental Health Substance Use Early Psychosis Intervention (EPI) team in Kamloops, B.C.

Salary Range:

Effective April 1, 2024, the pay scale for this position is $52.81 to $65.96

What will you work on?

The Clinical Psychologist is responsible for providing psychological services, including assessment, individual therapy, group therapy, and treatment planning in the clinical practice area of Tertiary Mental Health Services. This position supports a multidisciplinary and collaborative approach to service delivery within the continuum of Allied Health services.

This role offers the Clinical Psychologist an opportunity of working autonomously and independently while practicing assessment and psychotherapy with a population that tends to be diverse and more complex.

Some Typical Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provides comprehensive psychological assessment services, utilizing standardized and evidenced based interview and assessment procedures.
• Within a bio/psycho/social treatment model and working as part of a multidisciplinary team, incorporates psychological assessment results with the broader treatment plan.
• Provides evidenced based (including behavioural and cognitive-behavioural) individual short-term therapy/counseling interventions.
• Participates in client/patient conferences and team meetings as required and communicates pertinent information to all disciplines involved.
• Supports an interdisciplinary approach to client/patient care and ensures coordination of services/programs with community agencies, other health care providers and special interest groups, by participating in interdisciplinary and interagency meetings for the purpose of collaboration around client/patient management, program planning, and discharge planning.
• Provides consultation to the treatment team, clients/patients, family and/or community personnel, regarding management and/or treatment of mental, behavioural, adjustment and psychosocial disorders.
• Evaluates effectiveness and appropriateness of treatment and resources by methods such as assessing client/patient functioning, identifying opportunities for change, and formulating recommendations for quality improvement to ensure optimal outcomes are met.
• Maintains and orders psychological assessment materials, and assesses ongoing psychological testing material requirements.
• Supports evidence based clinical practice by monitoring, evaluating, and contributing to the development of recommendations for change, within the context of ongoing program planning, consultation, and evaluation.

Qualfications
Education, Training and Experience:

• Ph.D. in Psychology from a university or school recognized by the College of Psychologists’ of British Columbia, with an approved pre-doctoral internship in clinical psychology.
• Current registration with the College of Psychologists’ of British Columbia (or eligible for registration).
• Five years recent related experience in clinical psychology.
