About the Role
This is a full-time, permanent Property Accountant position responsible for full-cycle accounting across a mixed portfolio.

You’ll work closely with Property Managers and internal stakeholders, taking ownership of financial reporting, reconciliations, and day-to-day accounting operations. The role offers exposure to both residential properties and a growing commercial portfolio, making it ideal for someone looking to expand their experience.

This position is well-suited to someone who enjoys being hands-on, detail-oriented, and involved in the full accounting cycle, while also contributing to process improvements as the portfolio continues to grow.

Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of residential and commercial properties
  • Prepare monthly financial statements, reporting packages, and owner distributions
  • Perform bank, trust, and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Complete CAM reconciliations and property tax recoveries (commercial exposure)
  • Partner with Property Managers on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Process NR4 remittances, tax filings, and year-end summaries
  • Maintain trust accounts in compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Review lease agreements, including rent escalations and renewals
  • Support onboarding of new properties, including system setup and data integrity
  • Handle tenant move-outs and security deposit reconciliations
  • Assist with year-end processes, including audit preparation
  • Respond to internal and external inquiries in a timely, professional manner
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and reporting efficiencies

Requirements

  • 2-5+ years of property accounting experience (residential required, commercial an asset)
  • Experience with property management systems (Yardi Breeze or Voyager preferred)
  • Strong understanding of full-cycle accounting within a property environment
  • Exposure to CAM reconciliations or interest in gaining experience
  • Knowledge of BC trust accounting (BCFSA) is considered an asset
  • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, etc.)
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
  • Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams
  • Proactive and solutions-oriented mindset

Compensation & Benefits

  • $65,000 - $80,000 base salary + discretionary bonus
  • Full-time, permanent position
