About the Opportunity

About the Position
As part of the construction law group, you will assist with a wide range of civil litigation tasks supporting lawyers across the department. You’ll work on everything from file opening and document preparation to court filings and trial prep. The role involves collaboration with other LAAs and lawyers and requires strong time management and familiarity with BC Supreme Court Civil Rules.
This position reports into the LAA team structure and is supervised by team leads, with dotted-line collaboration across the department. You’ll play a vital role in maintaining file accuracy, managing deadlines, and ensuring timely court submissions.

Requirements:

  • Legal Administrative Assistant Certificate from a recognized Canadian institution
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience supporting litigation in BC
  • Willing and able to work in-office 5 days per week
  • Familiarity with BC Supreme Court Civil Rules, court procedures, and filing deadlines
  • Experience preparing legal documents: pleadings, binders, applications, etc.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe (OCR, redacting, hyperlinking)
  • Experience with BC Online, MyLTSA, and corporate/LTO searches
  • Ability to work overtime if required

Nice to Haves:

  • Experience with construction litigation files
  • Experience using iManage document management software
  • Proven ability to adapt to new technologies and workflow tools

Compensation:

  • Salary: $60,000 - $75,000 depending on experience
