Known for their hands-on mentorship and low turnover, they offer an environment where staff gain meaningful exposure to complex files and develop quickly under direct partner supervision.

About the Opportunity
As an Intermediate / Staff Accountant, you’ll manage multiple client files and handle all aspects of full-cycle bookkeeping, personal and corporate tax preparation, and financial statement compilation. You’ll work closely with the Partner and gain early exposure to review and compilation engagements, while maintaining direct client communication and ensuring high-quality service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform full-cycle bookkeeping, including reconciliations of bank accounts, credit cards, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
  • Prepare financial statements and working papers using CaseWare.
  • Prepare and file T1 and T2 tax returns, GST/HST, PST, WCB, T4, and T5.
  • Assist in payroll processing and related statutory filings.
  • Communicate directly with clients and management to maintain high service standards.
  • Support preparation of review and compilation engagements under partner supervision.
  • Ensure accuracy, attention to detail, and compliance with accounting standards.

The Requirements

  • 3-5 years of full-cycle Canadian bookkeeping experience, ideally within a public practice firm.
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks (Desktop or Online) and CaseWare.
  • Experience preparing T1/T2 returns and statutory filings independently.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP principles and reconciliations.
  • Excellent client communication skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • CPA student or intent to pursue CPA designation (preferred but not required)

Compensation & Perks

  • Salary: $60,000 - $80,000
  • Vacation: 2 weeks (negotiable to 3).
  • Benefits: Extended health & dental coverage, vacation and overtime pay.
  • Schedule: 100% in-office, Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m.
