Are you an up-and-coming Project Coordinator looking for hands-on experience with a growing electrical contractor? This is a great opportunity to work on a major $10M industrial upgrade project in Northern BC, with long-term prospects back at the company’s Langley office supporting local projects.
About Our Client
Our client is a growing electrical contractor that specialises in industrial, institutional and commercial projects. Their senior leadership has experience spanning many years working with some of the biggest electrical contractors in Canada and working on some of the biggest projects in BC. The office is based in Langley and they have projects spanning throughout the Lower Mainland, Vancouver Island and throughout BC.
About the Opportunity
This opportunity is specifically for an out of town $10M industrial upgrade project in Northern BC. The project is expected to be roughly a year in duration, after which you will be back working from their office in Langley on local projects.
About the Position
In this position you will working on an industrial upgrade project in Northern BC and you will be expected to be the go between with the office and field staff on the project. Your duties will be as follows:
- Support Project Managers with day-to-day project administration and coordination
- Track and update project schedules, milestones, and deliverables using software like MS Project or Procore
- Coordinate procurement of materials, tools, and equipment to meet project timelines
- Assist with estimating and takeoffs for small scopes or change orders
- Prepare and maintain documentation, including RFIs, submittals, transmittals, and change orders
- Liaise with vendors, subcontractors, and clients to ensure timely communication and information flow
- Maintain project files (digital and physical), ensuring everything is organized and up to date
- Assist with safety documentation and ensure compliance with site safety protocols
- Monitor project budgets and costs, flagging potential overruns
- Support billing and invoicing processes by gathering timecards, POs, and other relevant information
- Coordinate permit applications and inspections with municipalities or authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs)
- Participate in internal project meetings, capturing action items and following up
- Track deficiencies, punch lists, and closeout documentation
- Help with utility coordination, BC Hydro applications, or Telus/Shaw service planning (project dependent)
Requirements
- Electrical engineering BA or Red Seal Electrician ticket an asset
- 1-3 years experience working as a Project Coordinator with an Electrical Contractor in BC/Alberta
- Experience working on industrial, commercial or institutional projects
- Proficient using software such as Procore, MS Project, MS Suite and Accubid
Compensation
- $70,000 - $90,000 depending on experience
