Join a reputable and growing organization based in Vancouver, BC! Our client, a global leader in maritime transportation, is looking to add a Director of International Tax to support their global tax strategy. This role is ideal for a designated CPA with 10+ years of relevant experience who is looking to contribute their expertise in a collaborative and professional environment.

ABOUT THE POSITION
Reporting to the General Counsel, the Director of International Tax will be responsible for managing a team of two tax specialists. Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Identify tax risks in tender and M&A projects and provide practical solutions to manage them.
  • Keep up to date with global tax changes, such as the OECD Pillar II Minimum Tax, and make sure the company follows the rules.
  • Work closely with the Accounting, Treasury, and Business Development teams to include tax in company decisions.
  • Ensure all tax filings for countries like Canada, the US, Singapore, the UK, and several EU countries are done on time and handle important compliance issues.
  • Maintain company policies and documents for transfer pricing and keep global transfer pricing reports current.
  • Manage all tax questions, disputes, and audits from tax authorities worldwide.
  • Develop and maintain internal controls and procedures for tax to comply with Sarbanes-Oxley, FIN 48/ASC 740, and assist with the annual SEC 20-F filing review.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Designated CPA and completion of in-depth tax program.
  • Over 10 years of tax leadership in large multinationals, including Big 4 public accounting experience.
  • Deep expertise in international tax for multinationals, with strong knowledge of IFRS, US GAAP, and SEC reporting.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

  • Salary: $180,000 to $210,000
  • Discretionary bonus, including both long-term and short-term incentives.
