About The Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity for a Legal Assistant with civil litigation experience who is looking to expand their skill set across several practice areas. You’ll work closely with a high-performing litigation team, assisting on matters across business litigation, estates, and family law. The role offers direct exposure to all levels of court in British Columbia and is ideal for someone who thrives on variety, challenge, and continuous learning.
About The Position
Reporting to the Legal Support Services Manager, you’ll support multiple lawyers by handling a range of legal and administrative responsibilities. This includes preparing court documents, managing schedules, arranging court filings, and communicating with clients. You’ll also be involved in document management, billing coordination, and assisting with matters in Provincial Court (BCPC), Supreme Court (BCSC), and the Court of Appeal (BCCA).
The Requirements
- Legal Administrative Assistant Certificate from an accredited institution or equivalent experience
- Previous experience (3+ years) in a litigation-focused legal assistant role
- Strong knowledge of civil litigation procedures and court rules, including appellate practice
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and legal document management systems
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated professionalism and discretion when handling confidential matters
- Experience with BC courts is preferred
Compensation
This position offers a competitive compensation package, including:
- Salary: $55,000 - $75,000 annually, commensurate with experience
