The Opportunity
Join a top-tier tax team based in the GTA, where you’ll work on high-stakes files involving some of the most complex and dynamic tax issues in Canada and internationally. You’ll take ownership of files from start to finish, with the support of a collaborative team and access to exceptional legal resources. This is a rare opportunity to gain hands-on experience in both tax litigation and advisory work, all within a high-performing, global environment.
Responsibilities
- Represent clients in resolving tax disputes with the CRA and provincial tax authorities at the audit, objection, and litigation stages
- Provide strategic tax advice on planning and structuring, including mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganizations, and cross-border transactions
- Advise on a wide range of tax matters, including tax policy, transfer pricing, indirect taxes (GST/HST), and wealth management
- Manage a robust caseload in both litigation and advisory work, with mentorship and support from senior counsel
- Achieve a billable target of 1,900 hours, supported by strong administrative and paralegal infrastructure
Who You Are
- 1+ years of experience in tax law, with a focus on dispute resolution and/or planning
- Trained at a leading law firm (BIGLAW) or relevant government/tax authority experience
- Licensed to practice law in Ontario
- Excellent legal research, analytical, and advocacy skills
- Strong communication skills and comfort working in a global, multicultural team environment
- Bonus: Master of Tax Law (LL.M) and/or completion of the CPA In-Depth Tax Program
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $125,000 - $160,000 (commensurate with experience)
