General Description

Reporting to the Director of Production and Continuous Improvement, the Industrial Engineer – Time & Methods is responsible for analyzing, structuring, and optimizing work methods to improve operational performance, productivity, and process standardization. This role is key in identifying and eliminating non-value-added activities and in writing and updating work procedures.

Your Responsibilities

Process Analysis and Optimization:

  • Analyze production processes and existing work methods to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Identify, quantify, and eliminate non-value-added activities (waste, inefficiencies, variabilities).
  • Establish and revise time standards (time studies, MTM methods or equivalent, field observations).

Documentation and Standardization:

  • Write, structure, and maintain work procedures, operating instructions, and production standards.
  • Document performance gains and monitor indicators related to work methods.

Collaboration and Continuous Improvement:

  • Collaborate closely with production, quality, maintenance, and health & safety to ensure effective, safe, and reproducible work methods.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects (Lean, Kaizen, 5S, VSM, etc.).
  • Support employee training on new methods and procedures.
  • Contribute to the implementation and maintenance of a continuous improvement culture.

What We're Looking For

Education and Certification:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).

Experience:

  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment (time & methods, continuous improvement, or industrial engineering).

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong process analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent technical writing and procedure structuring abilities.
  • Good knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Green Belt or Black Belt certification (asset).
  • Comfortable working on the shop floor with production teams.
  • Analytical mindset, rigor, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.

  • Avoir des connaissances en mécatronique : atout majeur;

FORMATION / EXPÉRIENCES REQUISES

  • Détenir un baccalauréat en génie industriel ou génie mécanique;
  • Ingénieur sénior depuis 3 à 5 ans (minimum);
  • Expérience en entreprise manufacturière : un atout majeur;
  • Expérience en conception de systèmes (électroniques, programmes, etc.);
