Job Description

Under the direction of the Program Manager, Kinetik Rehabilitation Services, and with clinical support from the Professional Leader of Psychology, the Senior Psychologist is responsible for overall coordination of psychological services for clients of the program. The incumbent provides leadership to other psychologists on staff, represents psychology both within and outside the program, and participates in program and policy development. The incumbent will also provide clinical services for clients of the rehabilitation programs within FIT for Active Living and Kinetik. This will encompass psychological and vocational assessment and treatment services provided within a multidisciplinary team. In addition, this position will lead Kinetik's PhD. Psychology complement in the provision of Advanced Psychological Services for the Saskatchewan Worker's Compensation Board.

Required Qualifications

  • Eligibility for (and then attainment and maintenance of) registration with the Saskatchewan Psychological Association.
  • Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from an accredited (CPA or APA) program
  • Ph.D. Internship Training from an accredited training program

Experience
A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Registered Psychologist. A minimum of 2 years of experience Assessing and Treating patients in WCB's Advanced Psychological Services program
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate as part of an interdisciplinary planning group
  • Broad assessment, treatment and consultation expertise in areas relating to the impact of psychosocial factors on pain (and vice versa).
  • Demonstrated clinical assessment and therapy skills in the area of clinical health psychology, vocational assessment, and pain management services in particular.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and excellent teamwork skills
  • Demonstrated skills in conflict resolution
  • Knowledge, skills and abilities in the field of pain management and working within a multidisciplinary treatment program.

Additional Information

The successful applicant will be entered into our intensive training and mentorship program. This will include training in Prolonged Exposure, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and another of the applicant's choice that is approved as suitable for the work. In addition, attendance at conferences that match the scope of our practice is paid for and encouraged. Other opportunities will be provided on an on-going basis. The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) requires a criminal record check (CRC) from every potential SHA team member. The CRC must be dated within the past six (6) months and be satisfactory to the SHA.
