Job Description: Under the direction of the Emergency Manager, the Clinical Nurse Educator is responsible for ensuring all work is in alignment with the organizations missions, goals, values, and strategic plans to promote high quality, safe client care. This is accomplished by assisting in establishing and maintaining best practice; assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating unit orientation, clinical training and other educational programming; assessing learning needs; acting as a clinical resource; promoting client and family centered care; participating in committee work as assigned; participating in continuous improvement activities; developing and maintaining client and staff resources. The CNE will function as a member of the interprofessional clinical team to promote effective delivery of client care in the SHR, including direction and regular communication from the clinical area manager(s). The CNE is a self-directed practitioner with strong communication skills who works in collaboration with interdisciplinary members to promote quality client and family centered care and cultural competence. The CNE is an experienced practitioner with expert clinical knowledge and skills. The CNE is an educator, clinical leader, change agent, facilitator, and consultant.

Experience
- Experience in a clinical leadership role such as clinical coordinator
- 5 years experience including adult, pediatric, mental health, trauma and triage
- Experience in a clinical leadership role such as charge nurse or equivalent
- Experience with planning, implementation, quality monitoring and evaluation.
- 5 years recent full-time experience in emergency nursing
Education
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
Other Education and Training
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certificate (PALS)
- Canadian Nurses Association certification is preferred
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support Instructor Certificate (ACLS)
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
- Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS)
Knowledge and Abilities
- Application of adult learning principles
- An understanding of models of nursing care is an asset
- Evidence of clinical leadership ability is an asset

- Provincial posting open to SUN members - SUN/SAHO CBA Articles 27.02 and 27.05
- Registered/eligible with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS)
- Experience in formal clinical practice related teaching/mentoring preferred
- 1st preference given to staff of fSaskatoon HR employees and its affiliates
- Previous experience coordinating quality improvement activities is preferred
