Job Description: Reporting to the Manager of Seniors' Health and Continuing Care (SHCC) and a member of the Seniors’ Health & Continuing Care Team, this position provides clinical and consultative services for individuals with responsive/protective behaviours due to their diagnosis/environment. Strategies and recommendations may support the individuals, their family, and professional/non-professional team members within the portfolio. Responsibilities include completing clinical assessments, making recommendations, and care planning to develop a problem-solving approach to understanding behaviour symptoms/triggers for team members. This may include developing mechanisms/strategies to effectively manage the behaviours, support the implementation/evaluate of programs that are available for these individuals and participate in planning/developing services and programs to meet current and future needs. Formal education, clinical in-services, support and ongoing follow up may be required. All services in the SHCC portfolio are developed within a client centred/ resident directed framework, keeping the individual's experience as paramount in any decision making. Consultation with clients, residents and families receiving care is a requirement. This position is key in supporting safe environments ensuring outcomes of all programs, initiatives and assessments are targeted at increasing the quality of life, care and safety for the individual. Experience
- Experience with neuropsychological assessment
- Experience with adult mental health and geriatrics
- Experience in quality monitoring and evaluation
- Experience in behavioural management/techniques
- Experience working with older adults
- Related and recent experience in behavioural management
- Experience in providing clinical assessment and interventions
Education
- PhD in Clinical Psychology
Licenses
- Valid Class 5 driver's license
- Registered doctoral Psychologist with Authorized Practice Endorsement (APE)
