Experience

  • 3 years of recent experience in perinatal/obs and/or pediatric nursing
  • Minimum one (1) year experience in program, education and resource development
  • Minimum one (1) year experience in an adult educator role
  • Minimum one (1) year experience in coordination, implementation and evaluation

Education

  • Bachelor Degree in Nursing, Master level preferred

Licenses

  • Valid Class 4 driver's license

Other Education and Training

  • Instructor trainer certification preferred eg) FHS, NRP, PEARs, PALS
  • Eligibility to pursue or current instructor certification is required
  • Advanced maternal child training and/or certification preferred

  • Ability to interpret clinical outcomes and provide recommendations
  • Knowledge of regulatory body requirements in policy/procedure development
  • Ability to work independently and in collaboration with others as required
  • Support staff & physicians related to maternal/child care. 
  • Knowledge of clinical guidelines, care standards, benchmarks, service delivery
  • Ability to support the creation of clinical & standard work, educational modules
  • Ability to operate audiovisual, clinical and simulation equipment
  • Development, delivery & evaluation of the maternal &/or pediatric programs. 
  • Establish and maintain good interpersonal relationships
  • Knowledge of adult education/learning principles for programs/strategies
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships based on open communication.
  • Ability to coach/guide improvement initiatives related to achieving benchmarks
  • Clinical knowledge and skill set to support maternal/child policies & procedures
  • Knowledge of quality and safety initiatives, including accreditation processes.
  • The ability to conduct needs assessments & develop & deliver presentations.
  • Ability to conduct information searches, analysis and literature reviews
  • Ability to prioritize, interpret and respond to issues in a timely manner
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships based on trust and accountability
  • Demonstrated ability to assess learning needs of clinicians
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position
  • Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to facilitate groups to achieve deliverables
