Job Description: The Manager, Accrual & Compensation Manager is a key leader in Saskatchewan health care, partnering with system leaders to achieve our province's healthcare goals. Reporting to the Director of Staff Services- Payroll and Benefits, the Manager is responsible for creating operational lines of sight that connect to the goals and objectives of the SHA. The Manager supports strategy through the development and execution of operational and business plans, including cascading, monitoring, reporting, and course correction of same. The Manager demonstrates strong leadership to enable an innovative and positive working climate and a client-centric culture. The Manager must work cross functionally within the portfolio and across the organization to support operations. The Manager will develop partnerships and work closely with system and community partners.
Experience
- Three (3) years leadership experience in the specific department/area/program
- Experience as a leader who has developed and led innovative planning
- 5 years experience in Payroll or Human Resources
Education
- Human Resources diploma
- Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA)
- Human Resources Certificate
- Bachelor of Commerce (BComm)
- Bachelor of Finance (BF)
Licenses
- Valid Class 5 driver's license

- Leads the delivery of compensation and leave-related accrual processes, ensuring accurate calculations, compliance with collective agreements, and alignment with organizational policies and fiscal goals.
- Oversees the reconciliation and reporting of accruals, including sick leave, vacation, and other entitlements, ensuring transparency and accountability in financial management.
- Provides strategic and operational leadership on compensation matters, including salary adjustments, wage grids, and complex payroll escalations, collaborating with HR and Finance teams.
- Drives process optimization initiatives to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of compensation and accrual workflows, leveraging system improvements and automation opportunities.
- Acts as the primary escalation point for complex compensation and accrual discrepancies, resolving issues through collaboration with stakeholders and implementing sustainable solutions.
- Develops and maintains standard operating procedures for compensation and accrual processes, ensuring consistency, compliance, and alignment with operational needs.
- Collaborates with HR leadership, union representatives, and operational leaders to support workforce planning and alignment of compensation practices with organizational goals.
- Analyzes compensation and accrual data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, providing actionable insights to inform leadership decisions and workforce strategies.
