Financial Assistant

Assisting clients in securing third party funding for devices is an important task that falls within the role of financial assistant. The financial assistant is responsible for working with the clinician and client to create accurate cost estimates and for the timely processing of invoices to multiple payers, where clients have received communication devices from the Technology Access Clinic. Much communication occurs with team members, other hospital departments, clients and their respective agents, the Assistive Devices Program, Centralized Equipment Pool and 3rd party funding sources.


Qualifications

1. Graduate of Community College Business Administration or Accounting program, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2. A minimum of two years current, related experience.
3. Previous experience in acquiring 3rd party funding assistance or adjudication preferred.
4. Demonstrated proficiency in computer skills, including Word, Excel, Meditech, and Access Database. 
5. Demonstrated excellence in effective written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills within a professional environment.
6. Demonstrated effective problem-solving abilities.
7. Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, with excellent organization skills.
8. Demonstrated ability to work on own initiative, organize and establish priorities.
9. Demonstrated ability to appreciate confidential nature of position.
10. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.  
11. Fluency in French will be considered an asset.
12. Demonstrated commitment to ongoing learning.
