ELR +HR Administrator

The Administrator, Employee Labour Relations (ELR), provides confidential, professional, administrative support to Employee Labour Relations and Workplace Investigations teams ensuring the daily operations of the teams occur efficiently and effectively.  Solutions-focused with the ability to balance multiple tasks and priorities with a positive attitude, taking initiative, and using judgment in developing, adapting and applying processes to address problem situations with great attention to detail.

The Administrator performs a full range of administrative and transactional HR duties, which require an understanding of HR systems, internal policies and procedures, Collective Agreements, and relevant legislation.
 


Qualifications

• Graduate of a Community College (Office Administration Diploma), program or equivalent
• Minimum 1 year experience in administrative/secretarial role
• Minimum 1 year related experience in employee and labour relations
• Strong administrative and organization background, ability to prioritize, multi-task, schedule and carry out tasks with a strong attention to detail
• Basic knowledge of HR operations activities (payroll, defined benefit pensions, benefits, and compensation) and employee life cycle transactional processes (onboarding, recruitment, leaves of absence, separation, etc.)
• Working knowledge of Collective Agreements and organizational policies
• Intermediate technical skills using PeopleSoft, Oracle Cloud, Taleo, SharePoint and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio)
• Exceptional customer service skills
• Demonstrated excellence in effective communication (written and verbal)
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a high performance environment.
• Demonstrated analytical ability and problem solving skills
• Ability to handle stressful issues and communicate with a variety of people and situations in a courteous, professional manner
• Ability to work with tact, diplomacy, and confidentiality
