Halton Healthcare is embarking on a transformational journey to strengthen our data and analytics capabilities in support of our mission to “deliver exemplary patient experiences, always.”
Reporting to the Vice President, Strategy and Partnerships, the Director, Data, Analytics, and Reporting will lead the modernization of an enterprise-wide Data and Analytics program, structured as a hybrid hub-and-spoke model. The Director will develop and execute a Data and Analytics and Roadmap that enables trusted data, actionable insights, and responsible innovation across the organization, including through the advancement of artificial intelligence.
This role will ensure that data becomes a strategic asset underpinning supporting decision-making, operational excellence, and enhanced clinical and patient outcomes.
- Implement a multi-year Data and Analytics Strategy and Roadmap aligned with Halton Healthcare’s strategic priorities and that includes the advancement of the use of artificial intelligence.
- Lead the establishment of the central Data and Analytics Hub, defining structure, operating model, and services to spoke teams across clinical and business areas. Develop strategic alliances and relationships internally and externally to ensure the success of the Hub.
- Collaborate with leaders in Strategy, Quality, IT, and Operations to drive transformation and change management.
- Establish a comprehensive Data Governance Framework covering data quality, metadata, privacy, ethics, and model governance. The Framework should enable the organization to more actively and safely leverage artificial intelligence in the advancement of its operations and strategic plan.
- Chair a Data Governance Council to oversee standards, steward data assets, and ensure compliance with PHIPA and Ontario Health data frameworks
- In partnership with Legal, Ethics, and Privacy, develop and maintain policies and processes for the ethical and transparent use of AI, including model validation and risk monitoring.
- Work closely with business areas to understand their needs and oversee the design and delivery of enterprise reporting products (dashboards, scorecards) and analytic products (predictive models, simulations) supporting operational, clinical, and strategic leaders best suited to their meet their requirements.
- Create organizational practices and processes to monitor and improve data quality
- Promote analytic usage and skills among management and staff through programs that provide training, mentoring, and the selection of appropriate analytics tools.
- Collaborate with IT and Digital Health to define a scalable, secure, and interoperable data and AI ecosystem.
- Integrate key data sources across EMR, ERP, HR, Finance, and Patient Experience systems to enable enterprise analytics.
- Stay abreast of developments in AI, generative AI, interoperability (FHIR, HL7), and cloud technologies (Azure, Snowflake, Power BI).
- Build and lead a high-performing team of data and analytics professionals.
- Develop internal capacity through data literacy programs and cross-functional training, including in evolving capabilities in artificial intelligence.
- Promote a culture of ethical innovation, transparency, and continuous improvement.
- Work across the organization to ensure key collaborators are part of the change to become a more data-driven organization
- Monitor, oversee and accountable for all aspects of fiscal management of the Hub.
- Accountable for the quality and accuracy of all work produced by the Hub.
- Responsible for client satisfaction for all services provided by the Hub
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Health Informatics, Data Science, Public Health, or a related discipline (or equivalent combination of education and experience) ·
- 10+ years in data and/or analytics leadership, with at least 5 years in a senior management role-preferably in healthcare, public sector, or complex regulated environments.
- Strong understanding of modern data and AI technologies an asset (Azure,Snowflake, Power BI, Python, ML platforms, Epic Caboodle/Clarity, governance tools like Collibra/Alation).
- Expertise in PHIPA, privacy-by-design, responsible AI frameworks, and Ontario
- Health data standards an asset
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, influence across functions, and drive enterprise change.
- Exceptional communicator who can translate technical insights into strategic and operational value.
Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30-4:30
Salary: $73.128 to $91.385 per hour
