This is a temporary position commencing Monday, June 2nd, 2025, terminating no later than Thursday, July 31st, 2025. The successful candidate will work on site at the Thomas Merton Centre (Oakville).
Funding for this position has been provided by the Ontario Public Service through the Summer Experience Opportunity Program.
A College or University student pursuing an education in Records and/or Information Management is preferred. This position may also be of interest to those pursuing a career in Library and Information Services.
Hours of work will consist of seven and one half (7.5) hours per day, thirty (35) hours per week for the month of June and for the month of July, the successful candidate will work seven and one half (7.5) hours per day; thirty (30) hours per week (Monday to Thursday), at a rate of $17.20 per hour.
Duties
This is an exciting project to help the Halton Catholic District School Board (HCDSB) to modernize its information management practice and better organize its offsite storage holdings. The successful candidate will perform an important role in helping the Records Manager make important business decisions. Other duties as required.
The Student Helper will assist in developing, organizing, and maintaining a collection of material.
Qualifications / Experience
• Experience compiling, tracking and entering information into a computerized system and adding appropriate details
to facilitate efficient retrieval.
• Some exposure to cloud architecture platforms, including Office 365 and/or Laserfiche an asset but not required.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; attention to detail and multi-tasking.
• Excellent reading, writing, organizational and communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills.
• Understanding of concepts, tools, and methods used in information management assessment, including taxonomy
development and maintenance as well as archival techniques and best practices.
• Knowledge of electronic resource management software, and integrated systems.
• Experience in libraries or research would be an asset.
