Job purpose

Reporting to the Quality Control Supervisor, the job holder is responsible for providing technical analysis for quality control of presented samples. He or she works with equipment commonly used in the quality control laboratories of metallurgical organizations, such as microscopes, saws and surface grinders. Some chemicals are also used. Traceability of samples and report results are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and conduct technical analysis of destructive or non-destructive tests using appropriate techniques as specified by approved organizations and customers ;
  • Prepare samples for testing ;
  • Evaluate test results and write reports ;
  • Assign registration numbers to maintain traceability of samples and reports ;
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including certification to various customer quality programs ;
  • Compile data and interpret test results ;
  • Perform other technical functions in support of various company departments ;
  • Review customer specifications and internal procedures ;
  • Report any defects/missed work to supervisor and keep work area clean ;
  • Any other related duties.

Job requirements

Education required :

  • DCS in metallurgy technology

Technical skills :

  • 2 years' experience in the aerospace industry (a plus) ;
  • Basic knowledge of the aerospace industry ;
  • Use of Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel, etc.) ;
  • Understanding of requirements and specifications, and mastery of the techniques required for specific tests ;
  • Functional French and English.

  • Responsible and autonomous ;
  • Ability to work as part of a team ;
  • Thoroughness and attention to detail ;
  • Ability to work under pressure.
