Job purpose

Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, the incumbent will support the painter in the daily activities of the paint department and carry out the preparation of parts prior to painting.

Responsibilities

  • Clean parts before masking and sanding
  • Sand and mask parts prior to painting
  • Strip parts when required
  • Perform touch-ups on parts
  • Prepare the paint booth based on usage frequency (filter changes)
  • Polish or treat required painting tools (hooks and racks)
  • Clean sanding and painting equipment
  • Assist the painter as needed
  • Comply with safety standards
  • Perform any other related tasks

Job requirements

Education required

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Industrial painting or surface treatment training (an asset)

Technical skills

  • Knowledge of AS9100 standards (an asset)
  • Knowledge of aviation industry practices (an asset)

Personal skills

  • High attention to detail
  • Manual dexterity
  • Teamwork
  • Time and priority management
