Position Purpose

Under the supervision of the team leader, the incumbent is responsible for performing all operations required to remove excess machining material and ensure the cleaning and finishing of machined part surfaces.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and adjust grinding wheels and abrasives, including part positioning, securing, and abrasion parameters;
  • Perform pre-departure inspections and visually inspect parts to detect imperfections;
  • Abrade surfaces and verify their condition;
  • Clean and grind parts to eliminate defects and imperfections;
  • Perform surface preparation and finishing operations;
  • Carry out continuous finishing operations, including high-pressure, micromechanical processes, and work on large or heavy parts;
  • Perform part protection operations; clean, maintain, and ensure proper functioning of grinding wheels and other tools;
  • In the absence of the team leader, identify work to be performed using the ERP system’s priority list while coordinating with colleagues;
  • Maintain accurate reporting of all activities by properly clocking tasks according to established standards and informing the manager when unable to do so in order to capture lost time;
  • Perform work in accordance with customer requirements;
  • Carry out any other tasks supporting production operations.

Job Requirements

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent;
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in a similar position.

Technical Skills

  • Methodical and detail-oriented approach;
  • Position requires strong visual acuity;
  • Excellent stress management related to quality and precision demands;
  • Good physical stamina;
  • Strong manual skills and dexterity;
  • Excellent proficiency in French (spoken and written). Knowledge of English is considered an asset

Personal Skills

  • Strong organizational skills;
  • Ability to work collaboratively;
  • Comfortable working with changing priorities and tight deadlines.
