Purpose of the Position
Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, the incumbent supports all maintenance mechanics activities related to hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical components.
Responsibilities
- Analyze technical drawings: interpret information related to materials, specifications, and manufacturing instructions;
- Prepare manufacturing and repair routings for products supplied by the customer;
- Establish and define manufacturing routings based on technical drawings and update them as required;
- Interpret and validate technical drawing requirements using CATIA V5 software and produce sketches (visual aids) necessary to support production;
- Ensure ongoing compliance between drawings, specifications, and manufacturing routings;
- Verify hardware inventory for each part to be used;
- Define cost data and apply quantitative techniques to estimate costs for purchased or repaired parts;
- Prepare cost estimates for parts;
- Adjust and install components in accordance with drawings, specifications, and prescribed standards using appropriate tools and equipment;
- Perform operational and pressure testing following established procedures when required;
- Measure part dimensions to determine fitting operations using appropriate tools and equipment (verniers, micrometers, etc.);
- Establish tolerances for moving parts;
- Perform paint touch-ups on parts, if required;
- Carry out any other related tasks.
Job Requirements Education Required
- College diploma (DEC) in Aircraft Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering;
OR
- Vocational diploma (DEP) in Maintenance Mechanics, Hydraulics, Aircraft Structure and Component Assembly, or equivalent;
- Any other professional training combined with relevant experience may be considered;
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role.
Technical Skills
- Ability to read, create, and modify technical drawings and machining sketches;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and CAD software such as CATIA V5, SolidWorks, or similar software;
- Knowledge of machining processes;
- Knowledge of A/S 9100 standards (an asset);
- Excellent command of French (spoken and written). English proficiency is considered an asset.
