Position Title: Site Electrician III

Reports to: Facility & Utilities Maintenance Manager

Position Summary:

The Electrician is responsible for preventive and corrective maintenance on all industrial electrical systems at the GCT site.

Primary responsibilities for role

This position level requires proficiency in most areas of responsibility:

  • Perform preventive, predictive & thermographic maintenance on industrial electrical systems, perform work on low & high voltage, power & distribution, UPS, SAG fighters, VFD, MCC, construction project, emergency power and life safety systems.
  • Troubleshoot and perform corrective maintenance on all electrical systems and equipment.
  • Knowledgeable in arc flash.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, P&ID, drawings and manufacturer manuals.
  • Use a Computerized Maintenance Management System to document work performed.
  • Adhere to cGMP, Safety, and Environmental procedures.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures, job plans and or equipment manuals to perform work.
  • Assist with modification, installation, and start-up of new and existing equipment.
  • Responsible for maintaining training curriculum requirements and trains other technicians in areas of proficiency as needed.

Additional Responsibilities: Site Electrician III

  • Develop knowledge and skills needed to perform job as required by the areas of responsibility
  • Perform electrical construction work.
  • Maintains and troubleshoots PLC, VFD & MCC.
  • Maintains and troubleshoots electrical equipment of all voltages.

Qualification and experience

  • DEC in a technical field or DEP with minimum of 6 years relevant work experiences and skills.
  • Valid license C and/or A2 license.
  • Must be familiar with power & distribution systems and PLC.
  • Directly related experience or a combination of directly related education and experience and/or competencies may be considered in place of the slated requirements.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required

  • Familiar with all regulations associated with his field, building & electrical code
  • Possess strong electrical ability and troubleshooting skills.
  • Must have good mechanical, electrical and automation competencies
  • Working knowledge of building automation systems
  • Must be able to work with little supervision in a multitask environment.
  • Should be proactive and results-oriented with strong attention to detail and able to complete work in a timely manner.
  • Must be a team player, capable of communicating professionally with all levels of personnel.
  • Must be able to work on shifts, long hours, shutdowns, be on call as deemed necessary by the manager.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely, written and verbal form, in both French and English.
  • Build positive working relationships with cross-functional teams across multiple business units.
  • Use personal computers and have experience with Window applications and Web-based programs.
  • Understand current Good Manufacturing Practice requirements.
  • Understand industrial plant safety and environment requirements.to maintenance work.
  • Ability to think logically and be able to break down a job into components or tasks.
  • Able to perform in a constant changing
