Position Summary:

Reporting into the unit GM, the Transportation Manger is responsible for the overall leadership and coordination of the Service Delivery teams responsible for maintaining production standards to meet customer’s requirements and deliver customer service at the highest level on a daily basis.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Acts as Transportation Manager on duty while on shift, interfacing with other unit processes to ensure on time performance is achieved.
• Primary interface with Customer Ramp Operation.
• Responsible for all departmental work schedules, managing weekly schedules to ensure targets are met efficiently with the correct shift manning.
• Responsible for employee discipline and corrective actions in compliance with the regulations (Security / Country / Customer / Safety / Food Safety / SQOR / Company Rules and Procedures).
• Participates in PRIDE/Squad and takes the lead in the investigations of incidents/accidents within their span/areas of control.

Education:
• Degree educated preferred and/or relevant equivalent work experience at a similar level.
• Professional qualification in operations/logistics preferred.

Work Experience:
• Experience of working in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience of managing unionized teams within a Food Hygiene/Health and Safety/high security environment preferred.
• Must have 3-5 years of supervisory/management experience in a unionized environment
• Experience with scheduling and forecasting labour preferred
• In-flight catering experience or experience in a high-volume food service industry highly desirable
• Must have strong and effective leadership skills and have successfully managed a staff of 20-30

Job Skills:

• Superior analytical & problem-solving skills
• Strong PC skills including MS Excel
• Sound knowledge of all transportation modes and general warehouse and distribution practices

Communication Skills:
• Excellent communication skills, both written & oral in English
