Do you have a scientific background and want to develop your experience in an environment combining laboratory work, formulation, product development and process improvement?
We are currently looking for an R&D Technician - Scientific Support to join a small R&D team within a food manufacturing company.
Reporting to the R&D Coordinator, you will support the development and improvement of products, from formulation and laboratory testing to production trials.
Your main responsibilities will include:
Developing and modifying product formulations according to customer and company needs;
Preparing laboratory prototypes and product samples;
Planning, conducting and documenting R&D trials and scientific validation studies;
Supporting production trials, scale-ups and new product launches;
Analyzing test results and identifying opportunities to improve product quality and process efficiency;
Developing and maintaining product specifications;
Supporting the preparation of nutrition facts tables and reviewing ingredient lists and product claims;
Reviewing and validating product labels, packaging and printed materials;
Preparing technical reports and documenting results;
Collaborating with Quality, Production, Engineering, Sales and other departments;
Maintaining product, formulation and specification information in the ERP/MES system.
We are looking for someone with a strong scientific background, analytical thinking and genuine curiosity about product development.
- You may have a background in: Food Science; Biochemistry; Microbiology; Pharmacy; Biotechnology; Or another related scientific field.
- Experience in food manufacturing, laboratory work, quality or R&D is an asset.
- Previous formulation experience is an asset, but not mandatory. Training can be provided to someone who has the right mindset and enjoys experimenting, analyzing results and adjusting formulations when needed.
