I am currently recruiting an Electrical Technician specializing in instrumentation and controls for a manufacturing company located in the Joliette area.
You will join a technical team of approximately ten employees within a heavy industrial, unionized environment. Your role will primarily focus on industrial electricity, troubleshooting and instrumentation. Programming may be involved in certain assignments, but it is not the main focus of the position.
A valid C Licence is mandatory for this opportunity.
Your Responsibilities:
-Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues on production equipment
-Perform preventive and corrective electrical maintenance
-Work on process instrumentation, measurement and control systems
-Calibrate and verify industrial instruments
-Participate in the installation, connection and commissioning of new equipment
-Analyze recurring problems and contribute to implementing long-term solutions
-Perform occasional automation and programming work as required
-Document completed work and follow up on maintenance activities
-Collaborate with maintenance, production and engineering teams
-Strictly follow electrical, environmental and health and safety procedures
Requirements:
-Valid C Licence required
-Diploma of Vocational Studies in electricity, college diploma or certificate in instrumentation and controls, or equivalent training
-Minimum of five years of relevant industrial electrical experience
-Experience with instrumentation, calibration and process control
-Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
-Experience in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment
-Ability to work independently on industrial electrical equipment
-Knowledge of automation and programming considered an asset
-Strong technical judgment, attention to detail and commitment to safety
-Ability to work effectively within a unionized environment
-Comfortable working outdoors, at heights, in confined spaces and in dusty or high-temperature conditions
-Flexibility to occasionally cover other shifts
Conditions:
-Permanent, full-time position
-Primarily a day-shift role, Monday through Friday
-Schedule from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
-40 hours per week
-Hourly wage between $46.00 and $47.11, depending on education and experience
-Scheduled salary increases under the collective agreement
-Unionized work environment
-Group insurance available after one month, including dental and vision coverage
-Employer contribution of 6.25% to the retirement plan
-Two weeks of vacation upon hire, with progression based on seniority
The position is primarily scheduled during the day. However, due to the unionized environment and the need to cover vacations or absences, occasional availability for evening or rotating day and night shifts is required.
