Mission

• Manage project procurement activities and support Project Managers with planning, budget tracking, cost control, and client invoicing.
• Oversee the financial management of complex projects involving significant material procurement and Bill of Materials (BOM) management.
• Monitor purchase requisitions, supplier quotations, purchase orders, material receipts, vendor invoices, and backorders in collaboration with the procurement team.
• Analyze financial commitments related to material purchases and assess their impact on project budgets, forecasts, schedules, and profitability.
• Create, review, and integrate purchase orders into project management systems while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
• Track variances between budgeted costs, committed costs, actual costs, and planned BOM quantities.
• Prepare financial analyses on price fluctuations, quantity variances, material consumption, and project cost risks.
• Establish and maintain budget control checkpoints and required financial documentation.
• Review and consolidate project progress reports against budgets and ongoing commitments.
• Prepare variance analyses, identify financial risks, and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Support budget revisions and ensure updates are accurately reflected in project management tools.
• Coordinate month-end activities related to cost forecasting, revenue recognition, and work-in-progress reporting.
• Analyze work-in-progress and prepare client invoices in accordance with contract terms, including time & materials, capped time & materials, and fixed-price projects.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, financial controls, and company accounting standards.
• Monitor accounts receivable with Project Managers and follow up on supplier invoice payments.
• Act as a senior financial partner to Project Managers by providing clear insights into project costs, commitments, and profitability.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of project financial controls, reporting tools, KPIs, and processes.

Your profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 10+ years of experience in a similar project management or project financial management role.

Technical Skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Project is considered an asset.
• Knowledge of the transportation industry or technical transportation projects is considered an asset.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and French.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including French-speaking and English-speaking clients.
• Capable of building strong client relationships, understanding business requirements, facilitating meetings, and communicating effectively in both official languages.
