I am Caroline, Recruitment Advisor at Fed Finance, a recruitment firm specializing in recruitment for Finance professions. I work on two types of recruitment: temporary and permanent on the South Shore of Montreal. Our team, experts in finance, speak your language and operate in your world. We cover accounting, finance and payroll professions.
I am looking for a Payroll Manager for my client in the manufacturing sector. This is a permanent and hybrid position in Longueuil.
- Supervise a team in charge of complete payroll processing for several entities across Canada (multi-site and multi-province)
- Ensure data accuracy and adherence to payroll schedules (weekly, bi-weekly)
- Ensure compliance with provincial and federal legal requirements (labour standards, taxation, etc.)
- Validate direct deposits, Records of Employment, T4s, RL-1s and other year-end documents.
- Prepare and process government remittances (DAS, CNESST, CCQ, etc.)
- Coordinate payroll accounting entries and collaborate with finance and HR teams.
- Manage particularities related to insurance, preventive withdrawals, CSST leave, etc.
- Interprets and applies collective agreement provisions regarding payroll and benefits
- Participate in the continuous improvement of processes, internal controls and payroll management tools.
- Significant experience (minimum 5 years) in payroll team management, including direct supervision
- Solid track record (8 to 10 years) in payroll processing in complex, unionized environments
- Accounting training (DEC, DEP or equivalent), combined with recognized practical experience
- Professional payroll certification (e.g. CPA member) considered an asset
- Knowledge of rules specific to the construction industry (CCQ) appreciated
- Fluency in spoken and written French and English, to interact with colleagues in different provinces, particularly Ontario
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage pressure, prioritize effectively and ensure rigorous follow-up
- Analytical mindset and autonomy in operational decision-making
