How you’ll make an impact
As a Senior Developer, Data Partnership, you’ll help deliver product stories that align with FCC priorities, focusing on driving adoption of our modern data platform and supporting the wider data community. You’ll work within a collaborative team that provides FCC’s data users with access to the right tools, technology and data through AWS.
You’ll work closely with FCC’s data producer and consumer teams to advance data modernization. This includes managing AWS resources, ingesting new data, provisioning access and enhancing the efficiency and stability of data pipelines.
While data producers are already skilled in AWS technologies, data consumers-such as data scientists, analysts, and business intelligence professionals-are in the process of adopting new tools and databases. To support their learning, you'll help design and deliver hands-on training sessions, develop and update materials, and lead training activities as needed.If you’re a critical thinker with strong analytical skills, have a passion for writing clean, well-designed code, and enjoy sharing knowledge to help others succeed, you’ll l thrive in this role and make a meaningful impact on FCC’s data capabilities.
What you’ll do
- Participate in implementing solutions
- Analyze and develop new code, including automation, integration and unit tests
- Apply code fixes and support user testing
- Actively contribute to code reviews, providing constructive feedback to team members
- Ensure technical solutions and system integrations are developed and maintained efficiently and effectively
- Participate in design sessions
- Writing technical documentation
- Deliver learning sessions to data community on new tools, technologies and frameworks
What you’ll bring to the team
Required Qualifications:
- A degree in computer science or software engineering
- Minimum two years of experience in software engineering practices (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
- Experience with data engineering tools, platforms and approaches
- Experience building infrastructure as code (AWS CloudFormation)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Functional programming experience
- Experience with data modelling, data warehouse building and creating data access layer
- Experience working with Amazon Web Services (AWS) technologies and concepts: Data pipelines, Spark, Glue, RedShift, SageMaker, Quick, DMS, IAM and able to provide guidance to new adopters to use them.
- Ability to map legacy tools and technologies to modern AWS solutions.
- Experience with Informatica or any ETL tool
- Experience with data observability and tools like DataHUB.
- Experience with Data Vault 2.0
