How you will make an impact

Champion FCC’s influence by forging strong, high-impact relationships with government and industry stakeholders across Canada’s agriculture and food value chain. You’ll serve as a trusted advisor, cutting through complex policy and industry dynamics to deliver actionable insights-ensuring FCC remains informed, credible, and well‑positioned with key influencers, policymakers, and sector partners.

In this role, you’ll work closely with senior leaders to spot emerging risks, influence priorities and power the decisions that drive FCC’s success and credibility in the sector.

What you’ll do

  • Develop and nurture executive‑level relationships with key agriculture stakeholders and government decision-makers

  • Monitor emerging trends, risks, and opportunities in the Canadian agriculture and food landscape

  • Deliver strategic insights to FCC senior leaders-helping shape policy, corporate planning, and driving strategic decisions

  • Transform information into clear recommendations and effective risk‑mitigation strategies

  • Create compelling briefing materials and communications that equip senior management and the Board for success

  • Lead dynamic stakeholder engagement initiatives and government relations activities-amplifying FCC’s impact

  • Collaborate across divisions to align FCC priorities with federal government objectives

  • Break down complex information with clarity and confidence-building credibility at every level

What you’ll bring to the team

Required qualifications:

  • An undergraduate degree in agricultural finance, business, commerce, social sciences, or a related field

  • A minimum of five years of experience in government relations, agriculture industry engagement, or related stakeholder‑focused roles

  • Expertise in stakeholder relations and a strong understanding of government and parliamentary processes and policies

  • Extensive knowledge of the agriculture industry, including key influencers, challenges, and opportunities

  • In‑depth understanding of political factors that influence agriculture and food policy in Canada

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience supporting risk‑management or issue‑management initiatives related to public policy or industry trends

  • Experience preparing briefing materials for senior leadership or boards

  • Experience leading or coordinating government relations programs or stakeholder engagement initiatives

  • Bilingualism (French and English)
