Salary Range (plus eligible to receive a performance based incentive, applicable to position) :
$105,145 - $142,255Corporate law experience rewardedAs legal counsel to risk management at FCC, you’ll support our regulatory compliance program in a variety of ways - from legislative analysis and assisting in managing our regulatory compliance to various laws, to supporting our business units as a trusted advisor in implementing activities and programs that are compliant with the law. You’ll interact and work with our regulatory compliance specialists and support them in risk management activities such as control review and testing.
What you’ll do:
- Consult and provide legal support on matters related to regulatory compliance to various business units
- Stay up to date with legislation affecting FCC and spell out how it could impact business
- Support the implementation of required changes among business units, whether following a legislative change or following a review of existing controls
- Interact and work with other risk management areas such as the Access to Information & Privacy Office and the Ethics Office
- Provide general expertise on FCC’s regulatory obligations

- Skilled communicator able to explain complex information in a way that’s easy to understand
- Strategic thinker who can collect, analyze and develop objectives from multiple sources
- Relationship-builder comfortable working with colleagues at all levels and across disciplines
What you’ll need:
- A bachelor’s degree in law (LL.B.) or a Juris Doctor (J.D.) and at least one year of experience in a corporate legal function or private practice (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
- Knowledge of the risk management Lines of Defense model is an asset
- Advanced proficiency in both official languages (English and French)
