Maintenance Worker (Temporary) Part Time - Extendicare

This position is for our Rouge Valley Home, located in Scarborough, ON.

What you’ll be doing

• Performs preventive maintenance and maintenance tasks including PM checks, mechanical operations, building inspections, minor on demand repairs, moving of furniture, grounds maintenance/work, etc. in accordance with the written policies and procedures of Extendicare, the facility, trade/CSA legislation and the Maintenance Department as well as prescribed sanitation and infection control procedures.
• Reports unsafe and hazardous working conditions and any equipment malfunctions to the supervisor.

What you bring

• Maintenance experience, preferably in an institutional setting.
• Possess technical competencies related to electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Experience with an older adult population an asset
• Strong customer and resident service skills.
• Experience in a high-paced customer service setting an asset
• Flexible and willingness to learn new tasks
• Ability to multi-task and adapt to quickly changing priorities
• Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills
• Ability to read, write, and follow instructions in English (other languages an asset)
