PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:
The Technical Services Representative is a key member of the Wear Services Business Unit at Castolin Eutectic, responsible for delivering comprehensive wear solutions to end users within targeted key accounts in the Pulp & Paper industry. This role focuses on leveraging Castolin Eutectic’s advanced technology and service offerings to develop and expand the market for wear-resistant products and solutions throughout pulp and paper mills and related operations.
Job Responsibility:
- Market Development: Drive the growth of Castolin Eutectic’s wear services, including CDP wearplate, CastoChrome, Castodur, LaserClad, and other complementary products and services, by targeting pulp and paper mills and their supply chains.
- Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with the Services Team, Product Managers, and Marketing to identify market opportunities, provide technical and application support, and develop joint strategies for market penetration.
- Customer Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with mill managers, maintenance teams, and engineers to understand their wear challenges and deliver tailored solutions.
- Business Development: Identify prospects and existing customers’ needs that align with the company’s service capabilities. Develop strategies and messaging for new customer acquisition and existing customer expansion within the pulp and paper industry.
- Maintain an Opportunity Pipeline: Track all activities within Dynamics CRM to ensure a healthy and transparent opportunity pipeline.
- Technical Support: Provide technical, design, and product support to customers, addressing wear-related queries and assisting with proposals and quotations.
- Market Intelligence: Monitor competitor activities and pricing, providing timely feedback to inform strategic decisions and pricing strategies.
- Business Planning: Develop and implement objectives, strategies, and business plans to achieve growth targets within the pulp and paper sector.
- Cross-Regional Collaboration: Maintain contact and cooperation with other regions to share best practices and drive continuous improvement in technical and commercial approaches.
- Performance Accountability: Ensure the achievement of sales volumes, revenue targets, and enhanced gross profit margins for the Wear Services business.
- Administration:
- Support the development of a Services Growth Strategic Plan specific to the pulp and paper market.
- Identify and effectively communicate critical business issues, supporting their resolution.
- Represent the company at pulp and paper industry events, trade shows, conferences, and training workshops.
- Keep key documentation updated on CRM and deliver expense reports on a weekly basis.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Engineering degree in Materials or Mechanical
- 5–10 years of relevant industrial sales experience in wear services, ideally within Pulp & Paper or related heavy industries
- Solid understanding of wear management solutions applied to industrial machinery and mill equipment
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Basic understanding of maintenance and repair welding
- Possess a hunter mentality with cold-calling experience
- Knowledge of pulp and paper operations and their position in the industry
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Consultative communication skills
- Self-motivated and self-directed individual
- Knowledge of basic print reading skills
- Well organized, detail-oriented, and strong time management skills
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to travel up to 60%
