Position Summary

Under the supervision of the Garage Foreman, the Heavy Vehicle Mechanic is responsible for preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs of the company’s truck fleet. He/she ensures that the vehicles are kept in proper working order to guarantee their safety, reliability, and compliance with current regulations.

Your Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance on trucks (oil changes, inspections, adjustments, lubrication, etc.).
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues.
  • Repair or replace defective parts (brakes, suspensions, engines, transmissions, etc.).
  • Complete work reports and inspection sheets.
  • Follow workplace safety standards and shop procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Collaborate with other members of the mechanical team to ensure maximum efficiency.

Desired Profile

  • Education: Diploma of Vocational Studies (DEP) in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics (or equivalent).
  • Experience: 3 to 5 years in truck mechanics (an asset).
  • Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic systems.
  • Ability to read plans, technical diagrams, and use diagnostic tools.
  • Valid driver’s license (Class 1 or 3 is an asset).
