This is a non-union positionThe Specialist II, Strategy & Fundamentals, will provide deep expertise to aid the development, coordination, and communication of the Enbridge Gas growth strategy & plan. Reporting to the Manager Strategy & Fundamentals, this role will synthesize core market fundamentals, utility competitiveness, sector and customer energy trends, and intelligence to help craft long-term success for GDS.

Responsible to develop, evolve, and communicate the GDS strategic plan and roadmap including conducting research, developing strategies and strategic plans, roadmaps, and milestone reviews to enable resolution into major growth initiatives.
Conduct real-time analysis of energy fundamentals and the external environment to inform strategic direction.
Complete competitive analysis: evaluate competitors’ strengths and weakness and benchmark against GDS performance and positioning.
Develop and provide relevant, regular, insightful reporting on natural gas and utility market fundamentals to the GDS management, including the building of presentation slides, decks, and communications.
Develop high-impact, visually compelling, board-level quality materials for executive leadership team with Manager and Director Business Development: Enbridge Board, investor relations, and internal presentation materials.
Conduct strategic reviews to assess growth progress against plan, identify adjustments.
Collaboration with various teams including Commercial, Regulatory, Finance, Corporate Strategy and Public Affairs to understand the latest policies and developments related to core or emerging businesses at Enbridge.
Understand the impact of growth and track key metrics and signposts tied to our strategies, assessing potential risks and opportunities for Enbridge.
Related degree(s) and associated certification in Finance, Business, Economics, Engineering, or a related field, e.g., CPA, CFA, MBA
7+ years of relevant experience in energy, energy consulting / finance or strategy roles.
Exceptional written verbal and communications skills, including experience with Executive presentations.
Subject matter expertise and outstanding analytical, financial, and eye for business, e.g., investor relations, energy fundamentals, commercial models, peer companies, financial markets.
Considerable experience conducting both qualitative and quantitative analysis, including research.
Strong ability to conceptually frame, develop insights and tackle problems.
Sophisticated knowledge of MS Office (PowerBI, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
Ability to work independently; high degree of self-motivation.
Strong communication skills.
Office environment a majority of the time
Stress levels can be above normal as the work is confidential, highly visible (often publicly disclosable), fast paced, in a dynamic environment characterized by ambiguity and CEO level priority status.
Ability to work independently, prioritize workload by balancing multiple workstreams, and meet tight deadlines
