Senior Market Data Engineering Lead - Fixed Income & Global Markets: Operate

As a Senior Market Data Engineering Lead at Deloitte, you will design, develop, and optimize data pipelines and ETL solutions for a leading global financial institution. This long-term staff augmentation role focuses on sourcing and managing market data across Fixed Income, FX, Rates, and Commodities from multiple global trading venues. You will work closely with technology and compliance teams to deliver reliable, compliant data solutions that support real-time analytics and regulatory needs, leveraging your expertise in Big Data technologies and financial market protocols.

In this role, you will architect and operate high-performance data pipelines and ETL solutions, connecting with exchanges, dark markets, aggregators, broker-dealers, and FCMs. You’ll work at the heart of a digital infrastructure, ensuring the capture, normalization, and quality of quotes, orders, fills, and RFQ data needed for real-time analytics, compliance, and surveillance.

Candidate will have an advanced understanding of market data protocols, trading venue connectivity, and regulatory requirements, coupled with mastery of Big Data technologies. By partnering closely with technology and compliance teams, you will drive projects that ensure data reliability, accuracy, and speed-vital for operational excellence in modern trading environments.

Key Responsibilities
• Source, aggregate, and normalize real-time and historical data from a diverse set of trading venues, ensuring comprehensive coverage of quotes, orders, fills, and RFQ activity.
• Design, implement, and optimize scalable data pipelines using SQL, Python, Databricks, Synapse, Azure Data Factory, and related Big Data technologies for high-throughput and low-latency delivery.
• Lead onboarding of new venues, adapting to distinct schemas and protocols, and automating integration with evolving market and regulatory standards.
• Ensure rigorous data validation, cleansing, and reconciliation for trustworthy, compliant data flows and audit-ready storage.
• Continuously improve data latency and accuracy, supporting core business goals such as rapid order execution and precise price quoting.
• Champion best practices in data engineering, robust documentation, and efficient troubleshooting across global teams.
• Monitor trends in financial market data sourcing and regulatory change, applying new strategies and technologies to maintain an innovative edge.

You are someone with:
• In-depth expertise in sourcing and mapping market data for Fixed Income, FX, Rates, and Commodities across exchanges, dark markets, order aggregators, broker-dealers, and FCMs.
• Strong hands-on skills in designing and supporting Big Data pipelines and ETL frameworks using SQL, Python, Databricks, Synapse, Azure Data Factory, and similar tools.
• Minimum 10-12 years of hands-on development in the financial technology sector, with significant focus on ingesting, managing, and delivering granular market data.
• Thorough knowledge of regulatory requirements and data compliance standards in the capital markets domain.
• Exceptional analytical ability to interpret complex data formats, resolve data quality issues, and deliver normalized datasets for downstream consumption.
• Clear communicator with strong documentation and cross-team collaboration skills in a high-paced, globally distributed environment.

The salary range for this position is $84,000 - $175,000, and individuals may be eligible to participate in our bonus program.
