Senior Application Developer

A career as an Senior Application Developer in the Securities Lending team at National Bank means contributing to the development and maintenance of critical systems for the Capital Markets Group. This job allows you to have a positive impact on our trading environment, through your expertise in programming, problem solving and your understanding of financial markets.
Your job

• Ensure the stability and evolution of the Securities Lending trading platform.
• Develop and maintain Python, Java and Unix Shell code in line with business needs.
• Collaborate with traders, back-office teams and vendors to deliver integrated solutions.
• Respect project deadlines and communicate progress with clarity to stakeholders.
• Design and integrate solutions with in-house applications, vendor software and external platforms.
• Utilise AWS Cloud services and maintain proficiency with the Bank’s standard tools.

Your team

You will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to supporting Securities Lending applications and business processes. You will work closely with front-office traders, back-office functions, technology experts and external partners, ensuring smooth operations and continuous improvement. The team thrives in a collaborative environment where knowledge sharing and innovation are central to success.

Prerequisites

• Hold a university degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent experience.

• Demonstrate strong analytical and complex problem-solving skills.

• Master Python, Java, and Unix/Linux scripting.

• Be comfortable working in a Unix/Linux environment.

• Have knowledge of design methodologies and application development processes.

• Understand Cloud technologies, ideally AWS.

• Show strong interest in working within the dynamic environment of Capital Markets.
