Description
The Team Leader is responsible for supervising a team of service technicians who maintain, service, and repair gearboxes used on various types of machinery. The individual will foster a culture of teamwork and cooperation. This position also requires close collaboration with other members of the organization to ensure optimal product quality and absolute customer satisfaction. They are an active, hands-on member of the team.
The person will also perform Technician duties, ensuring maintenance, repairs, and the replacement of parts, machines, and gearboxes.- Act as the leader of the SC team and provide guidance and support to ensure that work is completed within deadline and in respect of quality standards.
- Train and mentor new hires and/or junior technician to help them develop their skills, knowledges and autonomy.
- Work hands in hands with Gearbox Dpt. Manager to allocate manpower on jobs and establish optimal sequence of work.
- Provide technical support and advice to other departments if needed (production, Eng).
- Help developing and documenting procedures for the department.
- Ensure all jobs carried out by the team are always properly documented and in accordance with company procedures.
- Ensure that all health and Safety regulations are followed at all times by the members of the team.
- Continuously seek to improve the performance and efficiency of the gearbox SC team.
The candidate will also continue to perform the following technician’s tasks:
- Perform in house inspection, analysis and repairs.
- Work on precision assemblies and sub-assemblies.
- Cleaning of gear units and parts.
- Assemble and manufacture lube system.
- Prepare gear units for shippers.
- Coordinate stocks (bolts, seals, shims,…).
- Bring forward quality issues to management.
- Maintain and complete inspection reports.
- Wear all personal protective equipment required by the company.

- 5 years experience in similar role, 3 as a team leader.
- Ability to read drawings and blue prints
- Customer service experience and team work
- Strong knowledge of precision fitting/assembly repair work
- Strong mathenatical and analytical skills
- Good manual dexterity, resourcefulness and good ability to concentrate
- Record time spent on each job
- Record/maintain quality form per ISO procedure in place
