We have immediate openings at our Halifax operation for a Kitchen Fire Suppression Installer.

As our Kitchen Fire Suppression Installer, you will be responsible to install, inspect, test, and maintain fire suppression systems on land vehicles and marine vessels (including tugboats), ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.


What You'll Do:

  • Install and service commercial kitchen fire suppression systems
  • Perform system inspections, testing, and maintenance in accordance with NFPA 17A and manufacturer guidelines
  • Mount nozzles, piping, cylinders, detection lines, and system components accurately
  • Diagnose system issues and perform repairs or upgrades as needed
  • Verify proper system activation, shutdowns, and interlocks (gas/electric)
  • Maintain accurate service records, inspection reports, and compliance documentation
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to customers professionally
  • Ensure all work meets fire code, safety standards, and company quality requirements
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized worksite
  • Work in dynamic field conditions, performing physically engaging tasks in active environments, with responsibility for on-call availability, overtime, and travel as required.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years’ field experience across various industries and a diploma in a mechanical trade would be preferred.
  • Fire service certifications and/or suppression training would be considered an asset.
  • Technical training in fire suppression systems, automated lubrication systems, marine systems, or mechanical trades preferred.
  • A valid Driver’s License
  • NOTE: All combinations of education and experience will be considered.
  • NOTE: Candidates who advance through the hiring process will be required to submit a current Certificate of Conduct and Driver’s abstract.
