What You’ll Do

You’ll work across commercial, industrial, institutional, and multi-residential sites across Nova Scotia performing installation, inspection, maintenance, and troubleshooting of fire alarm and life safety systems.

Key responsibilities:

Inspect and test systems according to the Nova Scotia Fire Code
• Diagnose and repair system faults, panels, devices, and circuits
• Install, program, repair, and commission fire alarm components
• Document deficiencies and complete reports using digial tools
• Read and interpret schematics and specifications
• Support and mentor junior technicians
• Participate in on-call rotation (with premium pay)

  • Job planning and coordination so you’re not sent in blind

Travel & Schedule

  • Work includes travel to customer sites; travel time is paid and premiums apply where eligible
  • Overnights vary by region and project; accommodations and per diems are covered when applicable
  • Predictable scheduling and clear communication to minimize surprises

What You Bring

  • 2+ years of fire alarm service or inspection experience
  • Electronics or Fire Protection Technology education (asset)
  • CFAA certification or provincial fire alarm permits (preferred)
  • Manufacturer approved training (e.g. Siemens, Autocall, Simplex, Edwards and Notifier) (asset).
  • Experience with major fire alarm systems (asset)
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, and safe work practices
  • Ability to work independently and professionally with customers on active sites
  • Great documentation habits and a customer‑focused approach
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Willingness to participate in overtime and remote-site work (with premium pay!)
