SUMMARY OF THE POSITION
Person, who designs, analyses, assesses and applies professional techniques in human resources with a view to ensure optimal performance.

SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS

Under the authority of the Coordinator of Occupational Health, Safety, and Quality of Life at Work, the incumbent applies policies and procedures related to medical-administrative management. They analyze and assess employee claims under various disability programs (salary insurance, CNESST, SAAQ, IVAC, RRQ). The incumbent supports managers in integrated attendance management and participates in all departmental activities to ensure optimal case handling, in line with internal practices, attendance management policies, and occupational health and safety promotion and prevention policies.
They also contribute to the development of strategies aimed at achieving organizational goals and meeting established attendance targets. The incumbent ensures follow-up on cases and monitors medical-administrative management indicators.
In addition, the incumbent will perform the following functions:
• Participates in the application of laws, regulations and working conditions relating to occupational injuries, preventive leaves, salary insurance plans and health and safety at work;
• Plays an advisory role in the management of health records and acts as representative for: employees, managers, unions, doctors, etc;
• Collaborates in the investigation and analysis of accidents and in the control of the related costs of the different income replacement indemnities;
• Participates actively in the promotion of attendance at work and prevention activities;
• Provides statistics on sick leave, occupational accidents and preventive leaves;
• Applies the rules of the collective agreements and the procedures relating to the administrative management of files;
• Performs administrative and medical follow-up with the employee and the manager;
• Maintains the various management indicators.

REQUIREMENTS
Education:
• Bachelor's degree in administration, human resources management, industrial relations or any other university discipline related to the position;
• Training in occupational hygiene;
• Hold a certificate in occupational health and safety, an asset.

Experience:
• Three (3) years of experience in occupational hygiene.

Knowledge and Abilities:
• The outstanding customer approach;
• Recognized as a creative and innovative mobilizing leader;
• Good ability to work in a team by developing partnerships;
• Good analytical and synthesis skills;
• Good capacity in facilitating working groups;
• Knowledge of laws and regulations relating to occupational health and safety as well as collective agreements in force in the health and social services network;
• Knowledge of First Nations health / social services models, trends and issues is an asset;
• Knowledge of Cree culture, language and social and health issues in Eeyou Istchee is an asset;
• Excellent communication, leadership and teamwork skills;
• Excellent planning and decision-making skills;
• Good knowledge of the computer tools of the Office suite.

LANGUAGE
• Fluency in English and French;
• Fluency in Cree is an asset.

OTHER
• Willing to travel on a regular basis.
