Position Overview:
Compugen is a supplier of Information Technology Products and Services. We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Mobility & Computing Repair Technician to join our technical repair team. This role is responsible for diagnosing and repairing a wide range of devices including mobile phones, tablets, laptops, and desktops. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable working with small components, and has a strong understanding of consumer electronics and IT hardware.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and repair mobile devices (smartphones, tablets) and computing products (laptops, desktops, Chromebooks)
  • Perform component-level repairs, including screen replacements, battery swaps, keyboard repairs, and board-level diagnostics
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues across Android, iOS, Windows, and macOS platforms
  • Conduct testing and quality assurance checks to ensure functionality and reliability of repaired units
  • Maintain accurate service logs and documentation using internal systems
  • Perform data sanitization and imaging in line with client and compliance requirements (e.g., NIST, ISO standards)
  • Meet productivity and quality benchmarks as set by management
  • Follow ESD, safety, and OEM service procedures at all times
  • Collaborate with other technicians and escalate complex issues when necessary
  • Cleaning and sanitization of device components
  • Update and maintain proper records of all completed work within Compugen’ s repair management system
  • Continuous skill advancements and responsibility to maintain/update applicable vendor certifications (HP, Lenovo, Xerox Lexmark, Apple, Samsung)
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace on a daily basis
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Must pass Security Clearance check
  • A+ Certification
  • Three or more major vendor hardware certifications (HP/Compaq, IBM, Lenovo, Lexmark, Toshiba, Samsung, Apple)
  • Three years of related job experience
  • Experience with current Operating Systems for PC’s and mobile devices
  • Experience with troubleshooting to determine and resolve problems with printers (major manufacturer’s brands) would be an asset
  • Experience with imaging and provisioning of desktop/laptop as well as mobile devices
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven sense of urgency to complete tasks and assignments
  • Ability to diffuse tense customer situations and project a positive, confident outlook
  • High level of integrity and honesty
  • Ability to take direction and follow practices and procedures consistently and accurately
  • Good time management skills
  • Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Analytical and detail-oriented problem-solving approach
Working Conditions
  • Standard work hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm, but not to exceed regular work hours
  • Entitle to one, half an hour (0.50 hr) lunch break
  • Frequently assigned to changing priorities
  • May be required to work overtime, with paid compensation based on the Employment Standards Act of overtime payment for the province they reside in.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 lbs. on a regular basis
  • Must be able to stand on feet several hours per day as required
