Job Percentage: 100% until the return of the incumbent and no later than July 15, 2026.


Nature of work:

The position of Pedagogical Consultant involves providing support and guiding school teams and educational services staff with respect to the implementation, development, and evaluation of study programs, classroom management and instructional strategies

and best practices. 


Characteristic functions:

· The Pedagogical Consultant collaborates in the achievement of the school’s educational project and special

projects. He or she participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the school’s educational project, while respecting educational and administrative frameworks at the ministerial, school and school board levels. 


·He or she collaborates in the implementation of study and training programs, advises teachers and administrators on the interpretation of these programs. The consultant designs and facilitates workshops and training sessions on program components, collaborates in the development of learning situations, and supports best evidence-based teaching practices. 


· He or she advises and supports teachers on an individual and group basis to support daily practice. He or she designs or selects and facilitates training and support activities to meet needs related to differentiation, adaptation, innovation, and pedagogical development. 


· He or she supports teachers in the area of student assessment and accompanies them in the design, development, or adaptation of assessment tools. 

· He or she may be called upon to participate with the multidisciplinary team in the development and review of intervention plans for students with disabilities or with adjustment or learning difficulties. He or she participates in the selection of objectives and

intervention strategies. 

·  He or she works with teachers to develop and implement strategies and projects aimed at supporting students who have or are likely to have adjustment or learning difficulties. 

· He or she advises teaching staff, administrators, and professional staff on matters related to staff

development programs, plans these programs, and evaluates their

outcomes. 

· He or she analyzes and advises on the selection of instructional materials, supplementary materials, equipment,

software, and relevant applications; he or she also advises on classroom

layout.


· He or she advises school staff on ways to integrate technology into teaching, collaborates on projects in this

area.

· He or she collaborates with other school-based staff, partner organizations, and the Ministry of Education. 

·He or she acts as an agent for change by participating in multidisciplinary team meetings within the schools to support adherence to new school priorities. 

· He or she supports school teams with implementing or improving a culture of PLC through RTI

models.  

· He or she supports and lead educational services dossiers for their deployment, implementation and

proper follow-up in schools

Requested skills

  • A bachelor’s degree in education;
  • Knowledge of the Québec School System;
  • Excellent knowledge of both oral and written French and English
  • A valid teaching permit issued by the MELS
